William J. Gardner – President
Mr. Gardner has over 20 years of diversified senior management and extensive auction/appraisal experience in the machinery and equipment industry. Prior to joining The Branford Group, Bill was the President of Worldwide Auction Services for DoveBid Inc, a 450-employee firm with 31 offices worldwide where he was responsible for approximately 200 people and 20 offices in DoveBid’s Auction Services division. During Bill’s tenure at DoveBid approximately 300 auctions were conducted annually. Prior to that, Bill was the President and CEO of Greenwich Industrial Services, based in Branford, Connecticut, for four years before selling the company to DoveBid in 2000. Bill is currently the President of the Industrial Auctioneers Association (IAA), an organization consisting of the 45 largest industrial auctioneering firms in the world. He is also a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA), a graduate of the Missouri Auction School, and a licensed auctioneer in numerous states. He brings The Branford Group a wealth of auctioneering experience and has a broad understanding of the subtleties of the marketplace. Mr. Gardner is also a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). Bill graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.
James F. Gardner - Senior Vice President, Auction Services
Mr. Gardner brings over 18 years of industrial auction, appraisal, and sales management experience to the company. Prior to joining The Branford Group, James was Senior Vice President of sales for DoveBid, Inc. heading up the Eastern Region of the United States, managing the entire sales and office staff on the East Coast. Before that he served as partner and founder of Greenwich Industrial Services, LLC before selling the business to DoveBid in 2000. As a licensed auctioneer, James has been responsible for all aspects of the auction and appraisal process and has managed accounts for Tyco, Xerox, Solectron, Foxwoods Resorts, Honeywell, and Goodrich Aerospace. James graduated from Bentley College with dual degrees, an Associate's degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Mr. Gardner is an active member of the IAA, TMA and ASA organizations.
Scott C. Lonkart – Senior Vice President, Operations
Mr. Lonkart has over 18 years experience in the industrial auction arena and provides a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the manufacturing processes. Prior to joining The Branford Group, Scott was the Director of Operations for DoveBid managing all aspects associated with the setup and accounting for each auction event. Scott was also a partner and founder of Greenwich Industries where he supervised the entire operations efforts for worldwide auction projects. As a graduate of the Missouri Auction School and a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA), Scott has conducted hundreds of auctions over a broad spectrum of industries. He has developed an auction system of planning, organizing and selling that is unsurpassed in the industry. Mr. Lonkart will also be handling the logistics division for the Branford Group coordinating all rigging and removal aspects for buyers and clients in addition to the Operations.
Michael J. DiProspero, ASA – Senior Vice President, Valuations
Mr. DiProspero brings over 18 years of experience in the valuation, disposition and industrial auction industry, specializing in machinery and equipment. Prior to joining The Branford Group, Mike assisted clients worldwide with their auction and valuation needs as a Director of Auction Services and an auctioneer for DoveBid. Mike was also a partner and founder of the Greenwich Industrial Services managing the appraisal division. Mike is an Accredited Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers, a graduate of the Missouri Auction School, and a member of the Turnaround Management Association. He has also served as an Expert Witness for the United States Bankruptcy Court System and the American Arbitration Association. Mr. DiProspero graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from University of Maryland.
AJ FitzGerald – Vice President of Information Technology
Mr. FitzGerald is responsible for The Branford Group’s corporate technology infrastructure and online communications. Prior to joining The Branford Group, AJ was the Senior Systems Administrator at Five Mile Capital Partners LLC where he built and managed the infrastructure and trading floor in addition to coordinating the strategic IT planning. Before Five Mile, AJ managed the global network and internet related services for Skandia Insurance Company. AJ’s career began in 1998 at MarketPlayer.com where he was responsible for the coordination between MarktetPlayer.com’s marketing efforts and information technology. AJ graduated from Quinnipiac University with a BA in Marketing and a minor in Computer Science. In 2006 AJ graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Masters in Information Technology.
Marc D. Mazzalupo, ASA – Director of Valuations
Mr. Mazzalupo has over 13 years of experience in the machinery and equipment disposition and valuation business. Prior to joining The Branford Group, Marc managed the appraisal operations of DoveBid Valuation Services’ offices in Branford, CT and Westborough, MA. He has expertise in a wide range of industries including Biotech/Pharmaceutical, Chemical Processing, Computers, Construction, Electronic Test & Measurement, Food Processing, Glass Products, Metalworking, Packaging, Paper & Tissue, Plastics & Rubber, Primary Metals, Printing and Woodworking. Marc has completed assignments domestically and in Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, Indonesia, Australia, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Marc is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and an Accredited Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He has served as an Expert Witness for the United States Bankruptcy Court System and provided ad-valorem tax appeal support. Mr. Mazzalupo holds a B.B.A. from the University of Miami with a major in International Finance and Marketing and a minor in International Business.
Rick Daniels - Director of Auction Services
Mr. Daniels has over 13 years experience in asset management and industrial auctions. Prior to joining The Branford Group, Rick worked for DoveBid as Director of Managed Services. During his tenure, he was responsible for developing and maintaining multi-year, contractual relationships with Fortune 1000 corporations. Rick has managed several large-scale asset disposition and redeployment projects for companies such as Lucent Technologies, PepsiCo, Tyco, Corning and others. In addition he piloted the extremely successful Semiconductor Equipment Exchange program. Rick is active in the Turnaround management Association (TMA), Machinery Dealers National Association, (MDNA), and Commercial Finance Association (CFA). Mr. Daniels holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
Brian Garfield - Director of Operations
Mr. Garfield brings 12 years of experience to The Branford Group. Prior to joining the firm, Brian was Coordinator of Project Management for DoveBid Inc. He acted as liaison between clients and DoveBid to ensure projects were well-orchestrated and operated successfully. His daily responsibilities included management of field supervisors, merchandising facilities, writing specifications, generating marketing materials, advertising, generating catalogs and web content, supervising logistics, auction accounting, and site removals. Prior to DoveBid he was a Project Manager for Greenwich Industrial Services. Brian has managed accounts such as Xerox, Zenith, ADC, Organon, Tyco and BF Goodrich. Mr. Garfield attended New England College with double majors in business.
Kristin A Gardner - Controller
Ms. Gardner is responsible for the finance and human resources departments. She brings over 18 years of diversified Accounting and Management experience to the Branford Group Team. Prior to joining TBG, Kristin was employed by Dovebid as an accountant working in their European as well as domestic offices handling settlements and accounts for companies such as British Airways, Ford, Grolsch, and Jumeirah Group. Kristin also served other financial related roles including senior accountancy positions at Avatar Alliance and Dental Management Companies. She is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Kristin attended Boston College and Graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
